| What types of surfaces can you put lettering on? Vinyl letters will stick to any smooth or lightly textured surface such as painted walls, wood, glass or tile. The vinyl letters come pre-spaced so that you can apply the letters all at once. How to determine the correct height of lettering: The height is determined by measuring the tallest point and the lowest point of the phrase. For example, in the word, "Always", the top of the letter "A" and the tail of the letter "y". How to apply your lettering: 1. Begin by measuring for placement and then make a few light pencil marks where you want your lettering to be. 2. Align your vinyl lettering to the surface, using the guidelines that you marked. Tape the vinyl lettering to the upper edge of the guidelines to keep it in position. 3. Remove the Backing Paper: Flip-up the vinyl lettering and peel off the backing. 4. Rub the Vinyl Letters/Graphics Rub over the vinyl lettering or graphics to securely adhere them to your surface. Work from the center to the outside edge on both sides. 5. Remove the Transfer Paper Carefully peel off the transfer sticking paper to reveal your vinyl lettering or graphics. How to remove lettering: Gently heat the lettering with a blow dryer. Once the vinyl is warm, use your fingernail or tweezers to lift one of the corners. Gently pull the vinyl lettering off. Some darker paints may fade over time due to sun exposure. This may cause the area under the letters to be darker than the surrounding wall color. |
